There are two lasting images from the end of the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. The first is Nick Taylor’s reaction after making a 72-foot putt to beat Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff to win the tournament.
The other came moments after Taylor’s putt dropped.
Hadwin had been watching from the fourth playoff hole at Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto along with fellow Canadians Mike Weir and Corey Conners. After Taylor’s putt dropped, the Canucks ran onto the green to celebrate, with Hadwin spraying champagne. A security guard saw Hadwin and tackled him to the ground.

Almost a year later, the RBC Canadian Open will be held this week at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
Is he also returning for the 2024 event? Hadwin and that same security guard.
The security guard, who did not want to reveal his real name, spoke with TSN’s Bob Weeks this week about the incident.

“I was on the other side of Nick and his caddie.” Mr., “which meant I had to go around him. There were a lot of people moving around and I saw this person heading straight for Nick. “I saw it like it was in slow motion, this guy approaching Nick with a bottle and no credentials.”
“It was a soft takedown,” Mr. X noted with a smile. “His feet never left the ground.”
After Taylor’s caddy quickly informed him that the person he had just tackled was Hadwin, Mr. Mr.
With Hadwin participating in this week’s tournament, he had the opportunity to see Mr.
“I rolled down the window,” Hadwin said. “As soon as he recognized me, we both had big smiles on our faces. I’ve said it from the beginning. I didn’t get hurt, I had no effect from it. I certainly don’t blame him; It was just one of those incidents. “We shook hands, shared some laughs, and I got him to pose for a photo with me.”
Hadwin finished the second round on friday on par and is currently at the projected cutoff line heading into the weekend.
