In the post, Abbie acknowledged that while there is “a HUGE amount of work to do” when it comes to women’s rights, she feels that many of the celebrations are performative.

‘I’ve always found it difficult to get excited about attending a morning tea organized BY women FOR women, and having the same women clean up, ordered by male CEOs to “do something nice for the office”, as if the emotional labor they “strive to making morning tea doesn’t go against the idea of celebrating,” he ranted.

‘As if women aren’t expected to constantly throw office parties for free, just because “women do it better!!!” (We call this “armed incompetence.”)’

He added that celebrations don’t matter “if there are no tangible changes in our daily lives.”

He said “there are still leaps and bounds to go” and added that “a cupcake won’t help.”

The reality TV star then described what she thinks International Women’s Day should be about.

‘I don’t want the damn CEO getting a pat on the back for gathering everyone in the kitchen for morning tea, hosted by his female staff, to say “thanks for all the hard work ladies!!!” !!”. to then return to his office, where women are paid less and harassed more,” he continued.

And he concluded: ‘We need real education that reaches those who do not want to listen. We don’t need a damn cupcake.
