Tori detailed her frustrating experience in a nine-minute video shared on TikTok.

She explained that things went wrong when she and her husband got up to board their flight home.

“When I go to give them my confirmation number, which, mind you, is on my phone. I have all my confirmations. I even got the emails saying ‘it’s time to check in for your flight.’ From my end, everything is set in stone,” Tori explained.

But instead of welcoming her onto the plane, Delta staff claimed she did not have a ticket for the flight, although they were able to locate her husband’s ticket without any problems.

She said airline staff began to look “a little strange” and “confused” before asking her for another type of ticket number or a separate confirmation.

Recalling what the gate agent told her, she explained, “We can see that you reserved your seat, we have your name here but we can’t find your ticket number.”

Tori said she and her husband stood at the desk for over an hour while the employee tried to get to the bottom of the matter.

“I’m starting to panic because we have 30 to 40 minutes left until our flight leaves,” she admitted.

Tori said airline staff said it was due to a “miscommunication on the backend.”

“We see your name, but we don’t have a ticket number for you, and if we don’t have a ticket number for you, we won’t be able to accommodate you on the flight.”

“I said, ‘Hmm, well, our flight leaves in 45 minutes and I paid for this flight. My husband and I are flying together, just like his flight and everything was fine. I need you guys to help me get on this flight, this is crazy.'”

She said that time was still ticking and that with 25 minutes to go before take-off the staff urged her: “Ma’am, if you want to take this flight you will have to pay for a new one, it is the only way.”

Having no other option, she decided to book a ticket for that flight, adding: “It’s hard for me to cry, I’m not a crybaby, but I literally started crying because they made me pay thousands of dollars to get on that flight.”

Tori and her husband made it to the plane with minutes to spare; the couple hoped to recover the funds when they returned to the U.S.

He made it through the 11-hour flight from Athens to Atlanta, but ran into even more trouble on the second leg of the trip from Atlanta to Phoenix.

The frustrated passenger said she was put on a separate flight from her husband and then had trouble trying to board there too.

It turned out that her ticket had been assigned to a different passenger, meaning she couldn’t scan it during boarding.

‘The airport staff told me, “How did you get this ticket? You’re not on this flight, you’re on the next one,” literally acting as if I had made this ticket up.

“I said, ‘Guys, I had this printed out by your staff, someone who works for your airline. I didn’t come here and make this up and now I’m trying to get on a flight. This is what you printed out for me and gave it to me.'”

After the complicated disaster, he was able to board the plane on a standby list, however, he never got his money back.

At the end of the clip, he added: ‘I know a lot of people who like Delta Airlines and I’ve never had any problems before, but I’ve never experienced anything more chaotic and terrible than this.

“Not only did I lose thousands and thousands of dollars out of my pocket, but the way the whole situation was handled was absolutely horrible torture, guys.”

People flooded the comments section expressing their shock at the situation, with some noting that they had also experienced problems with the airline.

One person said: ‘Delta, you better give him his money back for this!’

Someone else wrote: ‘As a former Delta flight attendant, this happens a lot more often than people realize.’

Another user added: ‘You better get both tickets refunded.’

“No, literally, Delta Airlines has been very chaotic lately,” another person commented.
