A man was gored in the testicle by a raging bull during a summer festival in Spain.
The 49-year-old man, identified only by his initials JHC, was taking part in a bullfight in the western Spanish town of Coria when he was seriously injured earlier this month, according to local media.
It is said that the bull’s horn gored him three times: once in the right buttock, once in the right thigh and once in the right testicle, miraculously without tearing it out.
The man also had internal bleeding and had to undergo emergency surgery, but doctors said immediately afterward that they were optimistic about his recovery.
This comes after another man was impaled after being crushed against metal bars during another Spanish festival on July 14.

The man underwent emergency surgery at a local hospital but survived his serious injuries, local media reported.
It comes a year after the so-called ‘Messi of the Matadors’ was seriously injured in a bullfighting incident, crushed by a 467kg (1,100lb) bull against the barriers at an event in Santiago, Spain, in July 2023.
Andres Roca Rey, 26, suffered multiple injuries and bruises covering his body after being gored when a bull, named Viruta, charged the Peruvian, dragging him onto the boards around the stadium and throwing him into the air.
Roca Rey was seen slumped against the wall as others rushed to distract the bull and get him to safety.
While Roca Rey has had his fair share of injuries throughout his eight-year career, spectators said this was the worst goring to date.
The Medical Service of the Bullring of Santander issued two reports in which they refer to a ‘multiple trauma in the left knee’ and ‘multiple bruises in the neck, face, right thigh and left knee’.

The goring occurred after the death of two bulls in the fourth bullfight of the Santiago Fair.
In the video, his teammate Cayetano Rivera can be seen diving to Roca Rey’s aid, suffering a rib fracture and edema in the process.
On Instagram, Roca Rey wrote: ‘Cayetano, I want to thank you because yesterday you showed your camaraderie and your contempt for life to save mine.’
Rivera said the risk was “worth it.” The matador was instructed to “stay in absolute rest” for at least 48 hours after the attack.
