A teenager was shocked when she discovered she was pregnant at just 15, after initially thinking she suffered from lactose intolerance.
Sophia Kadmiri of Santa Cruz, California, became pregnant with her son while still in school.
Sophia, now 16 and often feeling sick and tired in the mornings, attributed her problems to a dairy intolerance she had been battling for years.
However, as the illness continued, it became clear to Sophia and her boyfriend that she was, in fact, pregnant.
“Basically, I didn’t even think I was pregnant,” she explained in a TikTok video.
Sophia Kadmiri was shocked when she discovered she was pregnant at 15 after first thinking she suffered from lactose intolerance.
“I was really sick and tired all the time and I didn’t think anything of it, I thought what was happening was because I was eating a ton of dairy and I’ve always had a dairy intolerance.”
She attended a private Christian school and often had perfect grades. Sophia shocked her friends and family when she revealed that she was going to become a mother.
Despite having some reservations at first, the teenager soon fell in love with the idea of raising a child.
Worried about how their family would react, the young parents finally got up the courage to reveal the big news.
Sophie decided to tell her grandmother first and waited until she left the house to text her.
Wanting to make sure the pregnancy was legitimate, her grandmother went straight to the store and bought Sophia a test, which came back positive.
Although her family’s initial reaction was disappointment, Sophia and her boyfriend were forced to be more responsible and given the opportunity to step forward.
Even though her boyfriend was hesitant to tell his parents, they were very supportive when his own mother went through a teenage pregnancy.
