Two young men were left fighting for their lives in hospital after they were hit by a Toyota HiLux while trying to cross a busy road.
The couple, both in their 20s, were captured on CCTV footage crossing the Hume Highway at Yagoona, in Sydney’s west, about 4am on Friday.
They were almost hit by a white van seconds before being hit by a Toyota HiLux at a pedestrian crossing.
At that moment the traffic light was green for traffic moving in the opposite direction.

The 59-year-old driver of the Toyota HiLux (pictured) was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
The truck, which was traveling at 60 km/hour, suffered extensive damage, including a broken windshield, a crumpled bonnet and a dented bumper (pictured).
The men suffered serious injuries to the head and legs; one man was rushed to St George’s Hospital while the other was taken to Liverpool Hospital.
Both were in critical condition.

No charges have yet been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
