A major explosion has hit a key Russian gas pipeline for the second time in ten months.

Footage captured the huge fireball from the explosion on the Yamburg-Yelets 1 supply main.

The glow of the inferno and the column of smoke were visible for several kilometers away.

The cause of the explosion is being urgently investigated and comes amid a series of sabotage attacks on key Russian energy facilities linked to the war in Ukraine.
