Prison officers can still have Onlyfans accounts despite a female guard being jailed for making a sex tape with a convicted thief in her cell at HMP Wandsworth.

Swinger Linda De Sousa Abreu was able to get the position of trust despite starring in live videos on the website, which described her as a “happily married sexy Latina.”

And the 31-year-old’s raunchy alter ego was only revealed when a video of her having sex with one of her inmates went viral on social media.

It is now understood that just because someone applying for a job within the Prison Service has an Onlyfans account they will not necessarily be rejected from a potential job.

The subscriber site is known for its blue content, but it also hosts the work of content creators, including fitness experts and musicians.

The content of the account would be reviewed and, if the nature of the material was explicit, they would be rejected from the job.

Recruiters did not detect De Sousa Abreu’s account because he created it under a pseudonym, the prison service later revealed, and they did not find any worrying content under his name.

But since his case they have tightened their controls, making them more robust and fighting to find suspicious information even when it has been published under a pseudonym.

A Prison Service spokesperson said: “The content was posted under an alias and, as such, was not identified through our normal investigative checks.”

“Since then, we have strengthened our procedures to help us identify and reject applicants who do not meet our high standards.”

De Sousa Abreu – who lived with her partner and seven-year-old daughter – admitted misconduct in public office and was sentenced on Monday to 15 months in prison.

New details of the case began to emerge yesterday morning after Judge Martin Edmunds KC’s sentencing remarks were published in full.

Venezuela-born de Sousa Abreu was seen by Dr Iain Kooyman, a consultant forensic psychiatrist who prepared a report for sentencing, and revealed new details of her thinking.

Dr. Kooyman revealed that she told him she “loved” Weirich, who at the time had a very pregnant girlfriend.

The psychiatrist, who discovered she had severe borderline personality disorder and ADHD, said she told him she had never felt as safe as she did when she was with Weirich.

De Sousa Abreu (pictured), who was jailed for having sex with convicted thief Linton Weirich, planned to continue their relationship after her release, because it made her feel “like a gangster”.

And she planned for their relationship to continue on the outside after her release.

Weirich is serving a four-and-a-half year sentence for stealing valuables worth £65,000 from a safe in a flat in Kensington.

It was the second time she had had sex with him and a secret tryst followed later that day when she performed oral sex on him.

The X-rated clip, filmed by another prisoner, was leaked online and widely shared on social media.

Edmunds KC said Dr Kooyman had diagnosed De Sousa Abreu with severe borderline personality disorder which, combined with ADHD, made her “highly impulsive” and reckless and caused her to act “without considering the consequences”, but concluded that she was responsible for her behavior.

He added that since the explicit footage went viral, female prison officers at HMP Wandsworth had been subject to abuse and harassment by inmates who now view them as “clean targets”.

Mr Edmunds KC told Isleworth Crown Court: ‘The consequence of the recording going viral, a result which you did not intend but which was undoubtedly a consequence of your offending, has been that prison officers have become faced boos and harassment.

‘They have faced sexualized images that falsely suggest that their behavior is typical.

Weirich, the prisoner in the video, was jailed for four and a half years at Kingston Crown Court last June for theft after stealing £65,000 worth of valuables from a safe in a flat in Kensington.

‘The children of their fellow female prison officers have been mocked about what their mothers can do at work.

It is inevitable that the damage you were responsible for at Wandsworth has spread, to some extent, throughout the prison.

‘It will have an impact on the reputation of the prison service and, with it, the prospects for recruiting and retaining staff.

‘It causes anxiety among those close to vulnerable prisoners, who worry more about the environment in which they are held.

“That recording is still available and will no doubt circulate indefinitely.”

De Sousa Abreu was filmed performing a sexual act with Weirich before having sex with him on June 25, 2024.

Dressed in full prison uniform, she first ditched her radio, which crackled during the four-and-a-half-minute clip with inaudible messages from her colleagues, before being recorded by a cannabis-smoking friend of Weirich’s.

When he realized the clip had been made public, De Sousa Abreu attempted to flee to Spain and traveled with his father to Heathrow airport.

He called a night officer at HMP Wandsworth and told him: “I’m never going back to work, I’m never going back to Wandsworth.” I’m at the airport. I have a family emergency.’

She said her husband would return her things, but police stopped her at the departure gate of Heathrow Terminal Five before she could board a flight to Madrid.
