Cristiano Ronaldo took advantage of the Saudi Pro League (SPL) winter break to travel to Lapland with his family.
Ronaldo, 39, has shown no signs of his performance slowing down this season, with the Portuguese superstar scoring 16 goals in 19 games for Al-Nassr.
But it has been a difficult campaign for the Saudi team, coached by former AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli. Al-Nassr is fourth in the SPL, already 11 points behind the leader Al-Ittihad.
They are currently on a mid-season break and will not return to action until January 9.
And Ronaldo made sure to make the most of his free time by taking his family on holiday to Lapland.
Lapland is the northernmost region of Finland and is known for its ski resorts and the Northern Lights, although it is also considered the official home of Santa Claus.
Cristiano Ronaldo stripped down to his shorts in the snow in Lapland during his winter vacation.
He tried several activities and was traveling with his partner Georgina Rodríguez and their children.
However, Ronaldo did not join in when they went skiing, as footballers are usually prohibited from doing so.
The 39-year-old has shared several social media posts about the trip, including one in which he stripped down to shorts in the snow, while showing off his impressive physique.
Ronaldo accompanied the photo, in which he was seen smiling, with the caption: “Merry Christmas everyone.”
Ronaldo was accompanied in Lapland by his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children as they made sure to make the most of their time away.
They visited Santa Claus and were also seen doing various activities in the snow, including what appeared to be Ronaldo riding a snowmobile.
However, the Portuguese superstar did not participate in any particular activities due to his position as a footballer.
This is because players’ contracts typically prohibit them from playing extreme sports such as skiing, for fear of injury, and Ronaldo’s family tries out winter sports.
Rodríguez shared several photos from the trip as Ronaldo made sure to enjoy his free time.
December temperatures in Lapland are significantly lower than in Riyadh
The trip is a big difference for Ronaldo and his family from their usual life in Riyadh, where temperatures average around 17 degrees Celsius in December.
However, in Lapland during the winter months, temperatures can range between -16 degrees and three degrees, with occasional lows of -30 degrees.
Ronaldo will return to action on January 9 when Al-Nassr takes on Al-Okhdood in the SPL.
