His list of the five races appeared on the screen. The clip was accompanied by a caption that read: “These amazing breeds are all suitable for first-time owners as they generally have a great temperament, are relatively easy to train and are not overtly aggressive or difficult to socialise.”
‘It should be noted that dachshunds are prone to back problems, Yorkies have terrible teeth and finally the Cavalier is an honorable mention.
“They are lovely breeds, but unfortunately they have genetic heart disease so they are not on my list.”
He then listed the five races, starting with the fifth and ending with the number one.

5.Yorkshire terrier
Yorkshire Terriers are considered by many to make excellent family pets, due to their generally affectionate nature, as well as their playful temperament.
These small dogs, which can stand about 7 inches tall and weigh about 7 pounds, are energetic and need mental stimulation.
They also require a significant amount of grooming, as they have long, hair-like coats.
4. poodle
There are several reasons why many people believe that poodles make good first-time dogs.
The breed, which comes in a variety of sizes, tends to be friendly, intelligent and warm.
While they have specific grooming needs, this does not outweigh their other benefits.
Among the vet’s top five picks (pictured) are Yorkshire Terriers, Poodles, Golden Retrievers and more.
3. dachshund
The Dachshund’s small size can be a plus point for first-time dog owners who live in smaller homes or apartments.
Personality-wise, the breed tends to be affectionate and good at forming bonds with their human families.
Additionally, they are generally described as intelligent, so in addition to enjoying mental stimulation, they can be trained, with positive reinforcement being the best method.
One thing to keep in mind is that due to their long spine, they may be prone to back injuries, so certain activities (such as jumping from great heights) should be avoided.
2. Golden Retriever
Golden Retrievers are widely believed to be a good choice for people who have never owned a dog before.
The breed is known for being gentle, as well as loving and affectionate, and tends to get along well with both adults and children, as well as other animals.
They need a lot of exercise, which means those who have Golden Retrievers need to be active and get plenty of walks.
Finally, the breed loves to learn, which means they can be trained more easily than many other types of dogs.
1. Labrador
As one of the UK’s favorite breeds, Labradors are good-natured and highly intelligent, making them ideal for people looking for their first dog.
They are active, energetic dogs and love exercise, like going for walks.
In addition to being easy to train, they tend to get along well with both adults and children, as well as other family pets.
