Wayne Rooney is one of the most decorated footballers in English history, but the magnitude of how many awards he has won isn’t really evident until you see it with your own eyes.
The former Manchester United and Three Lions captain is one of the most technically gifted players this country has ever produced, and would go on to hold goalscoring records for both club and country.
For years he starred for Man United under Sir Alex Ferguson when they were among the best teams in the sport, winning three consecutive Premier Leagues from 2006 to 2009 and the 2008 Champions League.
Although Harry Kane has since surpassed Rooney’s national record, there are few in the world of sport that can rival the sheer number of trophies, medals, gongs and honors he can boast.
His son Kai, who is looking to follow in his illustrious father’s footsteps as an Under-16 player for United, has shared a glimpse of Rooney’s absurd array of awards in his home trophy room.
Some footballers will go their entire career without winning a single cup, but the Plymouth manager has so many that he needs an entire room to show everything he has won in his 19-year professional career.
Wayne Rooney’s son Kai has published a video showing the former striker’s impressive record.
Rooney was part of the Manchester United team that won the Champions League in Moscow in 2008.
The 39-year-old was presented with a special gold cap (pictured, centre) on the eve of his 100th cap for England.
As the camera pans down some stairs into the room, viewers can see three entire walls dedicated to cutlery, as well as a separate cabinet in the center filled with some of Rooney’s 120 England caps.
The first wall contains the Premier League Man of the Match and Player of the Month awards, the PFA Player of the Year trophy, various England caps, bottles of champagne and top scorer awards.
The camera then shows most of Rooney’s caps with England in the center of the room, before panning to a display case of his replica trophies.
On the top shelf you can see each of the 39-year-old’s five Premier League titles, four League Cups, his only FA Cup, Europa League, Champions League and Club World Cup trophies, as well as two signed match balls.
There are seven more balls left in the locker, for a total of nine, after having scored seven hat-tricks in the Premier League.
But pride of place in the glass display case goes to the shirt from his 2008 Champions League victory, along with the medal he and his Manchester United teammates won that night in Moscow.
Next up is another pair of England caps, as well as a commemorative gold one awarded in honor of his 100th appearance for the Three Lions, as well as more Man of the Match awards and goalscoring gongs and a special Premier League award awarded in the twentieth top-class season.
Perhaps most impressive about the entire impressive video is that there appear to be even more prizes in the back of the room, as well as some t-shirts from memorable nights that don’t make the video cut.
The clip shows everything Rooney has won, including each of his 120 appearances for England.
There is a special cabinet dedicated to replicas of Rooney’s trophies and his Champions League winner’s medal and match day shirt.
Rooney has arguably not received the true magnitude of praise he deserves for his brilliant playing career; Only two players have scored more Premier League goals than him, while he is also the fourth most assists player.
Rooney, a player who burst onto the scene in 2004 with Everton, was quickly signed by United; His pace, power, technical skills and drive made him a future Premier League legend.
Since then, Rooney became a manager, although it was somewhat more difficult for him to dominate the dugout than the field itself.
After spells with DC United, Derby County and Birmingham, Rooney is currently battling in the Championship relegation zone with Plymouth Argyle, winning just four of his 18 games.
