“Birthday boy,” Robert captioned the image, in which John seemed relaxed, happy and looking really great.

John was last seen in mid-June. while attending the wedding of his eldest son, Robert, and his new wife Melissa.

In the intimate photos, she appeared in good health and virtually unchanged after her grueling surgery in August 2022.

Prior to that, John was seen celebrating Christmas with his family, however, his full face was not clearly visible in the image.

While recovering from oral cancer surgery, he hugged his wife Jill as they sat down to a family meal in a photo shared on Instagram.

He was surrounded by his sons Rob and James, 36, as well as family members, who were wearing festive bibs and Santa hats.

In August 2023, Farnham revealed that he was cancer-free, 12 months after undergoing oral surgery in 2022.

Farnham’s family had previously provided updates on behalf of the Australian music legend, following the August 2022 procedure.

Speaking on Sunrise, John’s son Robert said his father was “doing fantastically” after 12-hour surgery for throat cancer.

The That’s Freedom hitmaker was also hospitalized after he developed a chest infection following surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his mouth.

Farnham is “unlikely” to return to acting after undergoing marathon surgery to remove a tumour from his mouth.

In the operation, carried out by 26 medical staff, much of his jaw was also removed.

Farnham only discovered he had a cancerous growth in his mouth after his wife Jill insisted on taking him to the doctor for a check-up when he developed a persistent mouth ulcer.

In April, John revealed he was publishing his own candid memoir titled The Voice Inside, more than a year after his surgery for mouth cancer.

He will remember the ups and downs of fame: when his stellar career stalled, record companies turned their backs on him, and he faced financial ruin.

Farnham will also detail his shocking oral cancer diagnosis in 2022, just months after the death of his friend and manager Glenn Wheatley.

The memoir, published by Hachette Australia, is due out in November 2024.

“After being asked many times, I finally felt it was the right time to sit down and tell my story,” Farnham said in a statement.

‘It’s a very strange feeling to look back on my life, the good and the bad, and now that I’ve started it’s all coming back quickly.

“I hope the book engages and entertains, because that’s what much of my life has been about.”
