Travis Kelce hand-picked the lineup for his ‘Kelce Jam’ music festival in Kansas City next weekend and even apparently called in a few favors to have Lil Wayne and Diplo headline the bill.
The three-time Super Bowl winner organizes the second edition of his festival on Saturday with a mega poster in Kansas City and 20,000 fans are expected to attend.
And two of Kelce’s food partners for the event, Medium Rare founders Joe Silberzweig and Adam Richman, praised the Chiefs star for the effort he put into making the event happen.
“Travis is here picking the lineup,” Richman said. Heads cable. ‘They were names that he was looking for and he knew that they were not only his favorites but also had a good pulse in the city.

Kelce has been praised for his efforts ahead of his big day on Saturday
Kelce apparently has a $15 million budget to host more ‘Kelce Jam’ shows in the future
‘They would be big names for him to bring to KC, and he wants to bring a mix of hip-hop and electronic music. And I think we did a good balancing act from Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and Diplo on the electronic side.
“He has his finger on the pulse of the city and can call in favors against legends who otherwise wouldn’t have arrived.” I don’t think Lil Wayne has been in Kansas City in quite some time. (He) may not have come, but when Travis Kelce calls, you answer.
“That’s proven here, with Lil Wayne being such an iconic legend that he appears on ‘Kelce Jam’ because of his relationship with Travis.”
Silberzweig added: “The important thing for Travis is to make this festival feel like it’s for everyone and that younger and older families moving in want to attend.
‘No matter what your tastes are, this festival is for the masses. This is for the people of KC. They start at $49, and the music programming talks about that, right? It’s a little bit of everything.
“We have some local DJs opening and building throughout the night with our headliners.”
In addition to Lil Wayne and Diplo, shows by 2 Chainz, Irie and EV are also scheduled. Tickets, which start at $50, are still available as of this writing.
Next year, Kelce is reported to be taking the festival across the United States with a series of dates in cities from Los Angeles to Miami.
He apparently has a budget of $15 million to put on shows in the future, according to The Sun.
Kelce is currently in Paris, where he attended his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s last show on her Eras Tour.
Swift definitely won’t be at Kelce Jam this weekend: the date coincides with her show in Stockholm, Sweden.
