Comedian Dave Hughes has dropped a bombshell about his recent experience with drugs.
The comedian, 53, made the revelations on Monday morning. 2Day FM Hughesy, Ed and Erin show.
Dave called into the show for Sydney’s Secret Lives segment with his voice disguised by a vocoder to make the confession.
‘I had an accident on New Year’s Eve and it took me a long time to recover. I walked past a medical marijuana store and ended up using it and didn’t tell my wife,” Dave said.
“I was taking medical marijuana for a few weeks and my wife didn’t know it and she kept saying ‘you’re sleeping great’ and I was like ‘yes I am,'” he added.

Hughesy’s co-host then asked the caller if he kept the medication for himself or shared the prescription with his friends.
“Look, I could have given some to some friends and coworkers,” he said, before co-host Ed Kavalee, 44, interrupted him.
“They say this often, but you make me sick,” Ed responded with faux disgust.
He then removed the voice decoder, revealing to the audience the joke that he was Dave all along.
It comes as Hughesy claimed last week that his ‘personal friend’ Lindsay Lohan upset other The Masked Singer Australia panelists.
On last Thursday morning Hughesy, Ed and ErinHughes was reminiscing about his time co-hosting The Masked Singer with Lohan, 37, and revealed that the Hollywood star often delayed production.
It comes as Hughesy claimed last week that his ‘personal friend’ Lindsay Lohan upset other The Masked Singer Australia panelists. Both pictured with fellow panelists Jackie O Henderson (far left) and Dannii Minogue (centre left)
Hughesy said Lohan often turned a 20-minute break in filming into a 3-hour break on the celebrity singing show.
“There’s a moment where the head falls off and whoever is underneath has to put on makeup,” Dave said.
—Then you have a little break. But Lindsay often made that break last 2 or 3 hours because we couldn’t get her out of her trailer… What is Lindsay doing in the trailer?! the radio host explained, before adding that he was a big fan of The Parent Trap star.
‘I enjoyed Lindsay. But I think it’s fair to say that she upset some of the other judges.
