Zuberi Sharp, 24, was arrested naked and armed with an ax on a California high school football field in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old boy believed to be his own brother

A California man arrested naked for killing a teenager turned out to be the son of a convicted murderer.

Zuberi Sharp, 24, was hunted by officers in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy — possibly his own brother — before he was captured on the high school football field in Ventura County Thursday evening.

In a shocking twist, the suspect was later identified as the son of Calvin Sharp, a convicted murderer who murdered six-year-old Sev’n Molina with a meat cleaver in 2007.

An ambulance arrived at a home on the 400 block of Jeanne Court Thursday evening around 8 p.m. after receiving a call of a teenager who had been hit in the head with an unknown object.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Captain Ken Truitt said the caller was hysterical and said her baby had been killed. Los Angeles Times reported.

Emergency responders found the minor with blunt force trauma to the head.

The unidentified teen – who a neighbor said was disabled and in a wheelchair – was pronounced dead when taken to hospital. KTLA5 reported.

The events prompted a search that was initially conducted around the house before spreading through the rest of the neighborhood – with radio communications recording officers pursuing a man on foot armed with an axe.

“The object used, an axe, is probably still in his possession,” a radio communications deputy said.

Sharp was eventually spotted at Newbury Park High School, where he was handcuffed and arrested while on the school’s football field.

When Sharp arrived at the school, it was crowded with student-athletes — leading to the initial belief that there was an active shooter on campus, prompting a lockdown measure that lasted about 15 minutes. VC star reported.

It was later discovered that the alleged murderer was himself the son of a murderer.

“As soon as I saw the news this morning, I thought, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’” Maeve Fox, the prosecutor who handled Sharp’s father’s case, told LA Times.

Calvin Sharp, the suspect’s father, was convicted 17 years ago of fatally stabbing six-year-old Sev’n Molina with a meat cleaver in Newbury Park before stabbing the boy’s mother and neighbor during the violent frenzy.

Both women survived, and Sharp, 44, was arrested in December 2012 and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Shortly after killing Molina, he told investigators that he had received messages from XM Satellite Radio to kill the child and stab the boy’s mother, LA Times reported.

Calvin Sharp’s indictment also stated that he went to Sandra Ruiz’s apartment, the boy’s mother’s home, with the intention of forcing her to have sex with him, despite dating and breaking up for six months before the horrific attack.

When he arrived at the house, an argument broke out, leading to Calvin chasing Molina outside and stabbing him as his mother tried to intervene.

Calvin ultimately pleaded guilty to the murder and is currently housed in California State Prison, Sacramento.

The cases of both Calvin and his son are eerily similar: Both men were in their 20s when they were accused of brutal crimes against minors, LA Times reported.

They also both graduated from Newbury Park High School, where they were student-athletes.

A neighbor told KTLA that the suspect in the most recent murder and the victim were brothers and that the suspect suffers from mental health issues — adding that he had “lost touch with reality.”

Authorities are now asking anyone who may have video of the suspect fleeing to send it to the sheriff’s office.

Sharp is currently being held without bail and is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
