In the dark comedy-psychological thriller, Tatum (to whom she got engaged in October 2023 after working with him on the film and dating for two years) plays a tech billionaire named Slater King.
He meets a cocktail waitress named Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala and invites her to join him and his friends on his private island.
However, it is there that Frida discovers that her dream vacation is not what it seems and she must uncover the mystery and find a way to escape.
Recently, Zoë appeared on the cover of W Magazineand shed light on what inspired her to start writing her psychological thriller.
“In the summer of 2017, I reached a point of frustration with the power dynamics of society and culture,” the High Fidelity star revealed.
‘One day I came home after talking to a friend and wrote down the original title of the film: P***y Island.’
She continued: “So when was it? I think in October, when everything happened with Har… (Harvey Weinstein), I don’t really want to say his name. I don’t want to give him any power.”
She said this led her to write a “short, stream-of-consciousness story,” which eventually became a screenplay she co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum.
She was wearing her usual oversized sunglasses with rounded lenses and carrying a small black shoulder bag with the strap in one hand, holding Zoë’s hand in the other.
Zoë had a sweet father-daughter moment as her dad held her hand and made sure she got into her car safely.
She recently made her feature directorial debut with Blink Twice, a provocative thriller starring her fiancé Channing Tatum; photographed in London on August 19.
“It was something that had to come out,” Kravitz explained. “I wanted this thriller to be bright and beautiful, so beautiful that it was almost oppressive. I was interested in a world that is seductive and vibrant and then turns into something terrifying.”
She continued: “The sun, if you’re in it too long, burns you. If you eat too much, you feel sick. What you think you want may be the thing that destroys you.”
Blink Twice grossed $7.3 million at the box office.
Two days ago, Blink Twice surpassed $15 million at the domestic box office on a reported budget of $20 million, according to Collider.
