Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane played reports linking him to a departure from the club after his side’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
The win means that Real will enter the final day of the season, still in the title race, two points behind league-leader Atletico Madrid, who has 83.
Zidane’s side will host Villarreal next Sunday on the final day of the season and the Frenchman insisted that this is all he and the team are focusing on.
Zinedine Zidane has rejected claims he has told his players he will be leaving at the end of the season
Some local media reports earlier this week suggested he had already told players he would be leaving the club at the end of the season – something he denied.
‘How can I tell the players I’m leaving now? We give our all for the title and I just say ‘BTW, I’m gone’? ” Said Zidane.
“People outside the club can say whatever they want, but I would never, ever say that to my players.”

The Frenchman refused to rule out if Real ended the season without cutlery
Zidane is in his second spell at Real, having won three consecutive Champions League titles in his first between 2016 and 2018.
He returned a year later after Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari were both fired by President Florentino Perez, taking the La Liga title as a coach for the second time in the 2019-2020 season.
However, should he end this season without a cutlery, his position could be jeopardized.
“At the end of the season, we’ll see what happens, but right now we’re focused on our last game,” said Zidane.
‘We can’t keep talking about my future. The last game of the season is much more important than that. ‘
