Zinedine Zidane has left Real Madrid’s pre-season training camp in Montreal to head back home due to ‘personal reasons’.

The Frenchman arrived in Canada with his squad earlier this week and has overseen a number of training sessions ahead of the International Champions Cup later this month.

However, Zidane has now handed first-team responsibilities over to his No 2, David Bettoni, as he attends to matters back in Spain.

Zidane has endured a busy summer already after being tasked with getting Real back to winning ways.

The 47-year-old has managed to lure Eden Hazard away from Chelsea in a huge £150million deal along with a number of other big-name stars.

Forwards Luka Jovic and Rodrygo have arrived at the club alongside defensive duo Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao as Real look to put their trophyless season behind them.
