“Because I don’t necessarily want my kids to have to deal with this [fame]”…and what is my future like? Will I be a public person forever?
Speaking of her fame, she added: “You just get used to the fact that, ‘Oh, I’m also one of those works of art that you’re going to take a picture of.’ I just have to be totally cool with it and just live.” my life.’
“I think growing up, I always felt like when someone asked me for a photo, I had to do it all the time. You have to say yes, because you just need to be grateful to be here.
“And while I still feel that way, I’ve also learned that I can say no, and I can politely say that I have a day off, or that I’m just trying to be myself today, and I really don’t.” I have to act all the time.
Zendaya added: “Now when I have these moments in my career, like the first time I direct a movie that’s actually going to be in a theater, I feel like I shrink, I can’t enjoy all the things that are happening.” “It’s happening to me, because that’s who I am,” she said before clenching her fists.

Zendaya will play a tennis star in the upcoming steamy movie Challengers, where she will star alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist.
The star also talked about playing an adult mother in her upcoming film Challengers, where she stars alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist.
‘I’m always in a high school somewhere. And mind you, I never went to high school.
“So breaking away from that was comforting. And it was also a little scary, because I thought, I hope people buy me as my age, or maybe a little older, because I have friends who have kids, or who are having kids.’
The steamy film from Suspiria and Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, an aspiring tennis star who abandons her career after suffering a major injury.
Instead, she focuses on training her colleague Art (Faist), whom she falls in love with and marries, but finds her feelings dangerously divided after Art signs up for the Challenger Tour, where she faces off against Tashi’s ex-boyfriend, Patrick (O’Connor).
Speaking about her role as the ruthless jock Tashi, she said, “I usually play the person who is ultimately easiest to empathize with.”
“There was something about her that felt very, ‘Oh, damn.'” Even I was a little afraid of him.
‘I mean, listen, she takes shit to a whole new level… yeah, I’m competitive in the sense that I want to work hard and I try not to be competitive with anyone else. I try to just say, “I already did that, okay, now I have to do it better.”
Meanwhile, Josh said of acting alongside Zendaya: “It was my first big American studio movie, and she was really good at making both Mike and I feel comfortable,” O’Connor says.
Faist added that he wanted them to “take the work seriously, but not take ourselves too seriously while we were doing it.”
‘I think it’s a real gift to be able to do what we do… and sometimes it’s very, very silly. I think she very much recognizes the smoke and mirrors that there can be, and the complexities of it all.’

In a recent interview, Zendaya also revealed that having an intimacy coordinator on set while filming Challengers was “very helpful” and praised them for maintaining a “safe” environment on set.
“We had an intimacy coordinator who was fantastic and very helpful, because it was important for us to feel safe,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is filled with “intense” erotic scenes between Zendaya and her protagonists, so the trio needed to find ways to relax when they were in front of the camera.
‘I talked to my colleagues so we could find a way to feel at ease. We play tennis together, we hang out together, we rehearse together,” she shared. “We have to come together and feel good about each other.”
Faist agreed, adding that such unstructured time was essential to creating a strong bond and portraying a believable romance on screen.
“We were able to spend time together during rehearsals and beyond, especially with Josh,” he explained. ‘We were able to get to know each other as people before we started shooting the film. We created a real friendship that created the basis of the movie.”
