Zendaya has opened up about her struggle with “self-criticism” in a stunning shoot for Hollywood Reporter Leading Ladies Edition.

The actress, 28, joined a group of celebrities in the January issue for a panel discussion to discuss her experiences within Hollywood.

As Hollywood’s most influential stars, Angelina Jolie, 49, Demi Moore, 63, Zendaya, Tilda Swinton, 64, Zoe Saldaña, 46, and Mikey Madison, 25, met for the first time to talk about their lives on and off screen.

When speaking about her insecurities, Zendaya said that she considers being on set to be the only place where she feels “super free,” but that she has a hard time promoting her movies because of the “judgment” she can receive.

She said: ‘I’m a very self-aware person. In everything I do, I am very self-critical. And I find that being on a set is one of the few places where I don’t judge myself. I can be super free. Because I’m like, “Wait, it’s not me.” So I don’t mind taking care of myself.

“I never really get weird until I’m like, ‘Oh, people are going to see this.’ Once it’s time to promote something, I’m like, ‘Oh, now I’m feeling self-conscious about the work I just did.'” .

‘But until then, I was just in my little bubble of creative freedom. It’s not until you realize that “this won’t just belong to me forever” that my head starts to spin.’

In a room full of award-winning actresses, it’s no surprise that an industry star was completely starstruck.

British actress Tilda said she was once “too shy” to approach Angelina and show up at a Hollywood party.

She said: ‘She was there. We had Liza Minnelli here and Sacha Baron Cohen there and Angie was there.

And both Pedro (Almodóvar) and I were burned by the glamour. “We just couldn’t believe we were there.”

The humble Angelina responded: “And probably, because I never go out, I was very lonely and I wasn’t sure if anyone would want to talk to me.” And I probably would have been very happy if they had greeted me.”

Tilda added: “We are all shy.”

The Spider-Man actor, 28, has been in a relationship with his co-star Zendaya since 2021 and the couple own a home in London’s leafy Richmond.

Tom, who also shares two dogs with Zendaya, has vowed to “fade away” from the spotlight once he has a family of his own.

The English star revealed that he will be content to spend time with his children and play the occasional round of golf.

He told Men’s Health magazine: “When I have kids, you won’t see me in movies anymore.” Golf and dad… and I’ll just disappear off the face of the earth.’

Zendaya and Tom met on the set of Spider-man: Homecoming in 2017, but have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye.

Tom previously revealed that the reason he keeps his relationship with his girlfriend Zendaya so private is because their bond is “what he holds most sacred.”
