Harrison Ford will reprise his role as the titular hero for the last time in the fifth Indiana Jones film, having first taken on the iconic character in 1984.
The upcoming action movie will be released on June 30 and will be the last Indiana Jones film.
“This is the last movie in the series and this is the last time I play the character. I expect it will be the last time he appears in a movie,” Harrison himself recently confirmed in an interview with Total Film.
In November, it was reported that Disney Plus was in the early stages of developing an Indiana Jones TV series, though Harrison insisted he was not involved in that either.
He said he “will not be involved in that, if it comes to fruition,” adding that he is quite excited for fans to see the latest Indy adventure.
“I had been ambitious to make this movie for 10 years, and there finally came a time when we all committed to it,” the actor admitted.
“It was a joyful moment for me. I think it’s a rare situation I find myself in.”
“I’ve been able to deliver great films developed by Steven (Spielberg) and George (Lucas) over a period of 40 years, and to end it not with a whimper, but with a bang, was my greatest ambition for this excursion. he continued.
