Zane Lowe has revealed that a call from Elton John encouraged him to change his Apple Music show while locked.

The superstar DJ and radio host said news.com.au on Saturday: “Elton calls to check on you, he’s just such a person, an incredibly nice person.”

The 46-year-old added, “This was in the early days [of isolation] and I said “I think I’ll go back to work on Monday” and he said “OK, I’m doing Rocket Hour let’s go”.

“But I wanted to create shows that reflected the tone of what we were going through instead of pretending it was business as usual.

“I asked Elton to come to my show, pick some records, we would make a joint playlist and talk about music.”
