Zac Efron made a dapper appearance at the amfAR Gala during the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, marking his first public appearance since his recent hospitalization.
The 36-year-old High School Musical star looked dapper in a sleek black suit over a black T-shirt.
The actor completed the look with a pair of black sunglasses and sported a light amount of facial hair.
He was photographed at the event alongside Pretty Woman star Richard Gere, 75, and his wife Alejandra Gere, 41.
It comes a month after Efron was rushed to hospital following an incident while swimming at a luxury villa in Ibiza.

Efron was hospitalized in Ibiza in early August after diving deep into a villa pool, with his chest hitting the bottom of the pool, causing water to ingest into his lungs.
The experts said TMZ The actor took a dip in the pool during an outing with friends on the Spanish island.
The San Luis Obispo, California-born artist had ingested “a large amount of water into his lungs” after coming into contact with the bottom of the pool.
The Iron Claw star had “showed signs of distress” following the incident, sources told the outlet, at which point security officials rushed to his aid.
“He was momentarily stunned” and was later taken to a medical center “as a precautionary measure,” sources told the outlet.
Medical officials examined Efron with chest X-rays in an effort to determine that his lungs were free of water, sources close to the outlet told the outlet.
Efron had been cleared by doctors, but took his time leaving the medical facility after a group of photographers in the area learned he was there and gathered outside.
He later posted on Instagram Stories a picture of himself working out at a resort, lifting dumbbells while balancing on an exercise ball.

The actor updated his followers on his condition after his trip to the hospital, saying: “Happy and healthy, thanks for the well wishes.”
A source previously revealed to TMZ that the actor “was found inside the pool by two people who worked at the villa and who pulled him out of the water.”
Efron’s rep confirmed to the outlet that the actor was hospitalized “as a precaution” following the “minor” incident and that he is “recovering very well” after being released from the hospital.
Before the incident, she joined Dutch DJ Martin Garrix on stage during one of his shows.
The Disney Channel alum had been spending time in Ibiza and Europe over the summer.
The actor has shared his experiences participating in extreme sports, including scuba diving, via his social media accounts in the past.
The incident comes more than a decade after he “broke” his jaw in 2013 after slipping on a pair of socks while jogging at home, causing him to smash his chin into a granite fountain.
In 2022, he said Men’s Health Magazine who lost consciousness and woke up with “his chin hanging off his face.”
Efron was hospitalized in Ibiza in early August after diving deep into a pool at a villa, with his chest hitting the bottom of the pool and ingesting water into his lungs; photographed in Los Angeles in June.
He later appeared to be on the mend following the incident, as he was pictured working out on social media and thanked his fans for their well wishes.
Efron said that when he was injured, the masseter muscles inside his face and jaw “compensated” for his injury, causing them to grow in size, hence his remarkable transformation.
He says this explains why he looked so different at the time. “The masseters just grew. They got really, really big.”
Following the accident, Efron has been at the centre of plastic surgery rumours, but the handsome actor insisted the changes are just a result of breaking his jaw.
The Gold actor also claimed to be unaware that he was a huge topic of conversation on social media and had in fact gone viral for his different-looking jaw, until his mother called him to ask if he had undergone surgery.
“If I valued what other people think of me as much as they think I do,” she told the magazine, “I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this job.”
In April 2021, Efron began trending on Twitter after he was seen in a video for Earth Day! The Musical showing off a more prominent square chin and a more pronounced jawline.
In the clip, Efron excitedly called Bill Nye a “genius” after hearing that he and Justin Bieber were working on a fictional Earth Day musical.
This led fans to speculate that the attractive star had undergone plastic surgery.

Efron’s friend Kyle Sandilands also spoke out on his behalf, saying the Baywatch star would never do something like that, comparing him to an oil painting by one of the old masters. The Australian radio host, who has known Zac for years, dismissed the speculation during The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time.
“I’d like to know if he’d had any plastic surgery,” Kyle said, before telling co-host Jackie “O” Henderson that “of course” Zac hadn’t had any work done.
She then said it wouldn’t make sense for the High School Musical heartthrob to undergo surgery because he’s already so attractive: “It’s like getting a Picasso and having a kid finger paint all over it. Why bother?”
