Yung Filly collaborator AngryGinge has broken his silence on the future of his gaming team following the YouTuber’s arrest.
Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, and Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, created Girth N Turf FC, a virtual soccer team on the EA Sports FC 24 gaming platform, in March.
They stream their games on live streaming service Twitch and their club features a line-up of some of the biggest names in both the influencer and sporting worlds, including Wayne Rooney and Luke Littler.
In a Twitch stream on Thursday, Burtwistle addressed Barrientos’ arrest after the star appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in Perth.
He shared: ‘Where to start? At 4 in the morning I’m lying in bed, right? I see what’s happening on Twitter. First of all… I’m exactly like you. I’m shocked! Yeah, you know, mental. Mental!

But now he is evidently involved in a judicial process. I cannot comment on legal proceedings. Yes, you know how it is. Angry!
‘Honestly, I cannot comment on legal proceedings. I don’t know anything else. I know exactly the same as you. I know what’s been in the news. I don’t know anything else. Please don’t think I do.
‘It is what it is. We can only wait for the final verdict. You’ll all have your own opinions and whatever and that’s okay.’
Speaking about his football broadcast, he continued: “I think the next big question… GNT (Girth N Turf)… if you want my honest answer, I don’t know his future.”
‘I don’t know what the future will be right now. Good? We’ll see what we can do. But at the moment I don’t know. And that’s all I’m going to say. And there’s not much more I can say.
‘Everyone at GNT is in exactly the same boat as you. We only know what you know. And that’s all. Damn hell! And that’s all.’
Barrientos is a great soccer fan and has collaborated with several sports brands during his career.
On Thursday, Barrientos appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s on September 28 after a performance at Bar1 nightclub in Perth.
Hours later the Football Association withdrew an advertisement for a cooking series in which he starred just two days after announcing his involvement.
Girth N Turf FC boasts a line-up of some of the biggest names in both the influencer and sporting worlds, including Wayne Rooney (pictured with Burtwistle) and Luke Littler.
The Greater Game campaign was launched by the FA and England team sponsor M&S to promote healthy eating in children aged 12-16.
The FA announced it had chosen the YouTuber for the series with the aim of “encouraging young people across the country to experiment with healthy culinary alternatives”.
But its governing body reacted quickly and withdrew the announcement after it emerged overnight that Filly was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth on Wednesday.
He also appears regularly on Footasylum’s YouTube channel, starring in the dating series Does The Shoe Fit, as well as Pro:Direct Soccer’s YouTube, but the company told MailOnline his contract has been suspended.
He was due to appear in a three-part content series called ‘Freestyle Cooking’ with cameos from English football stars Bukayo Saka, Ezri Konsa and Jarrod Bowen.
The FA confirmed to Sky News that the videos had been removed.
A Footasylum spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘In light of these extremely serious charges, we will be suspending our contract with Yung Filly with immediate effect.
“We cannot comment further until the legal process has concluded.”
Perth Magistrates Court heard Barrientos was charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
Police prosecutor Julius Depetro opposed his release during a hearing at Perth Magistrates Court today, but he was granted conditional bail.
Barrientos was granted bail with a number of conditions, including a ban on contacting his victim or posting on social media about the case.
He must also remain in Western Australia, report to police daily and provide a personal cash guarantee of $100,000 (£52,000).
