Mark, who recently lost his own mother to cancer, was diagnosed with a specialist after a blood test “ involved ” his primary care physician a few weeks ago.

“Four weeks ago, my life changed quite a bit … It was just a pretty numb roller coaster ride from then on,” he told Today hosts Karl Stefanovic and Leila McKinnon.

Mark said the early stages of diagnosis were “ overwhelming, ” as he required regular prostate-specific antigen (PSA) checks, MRI scans, and a biopsy.

“The knockout punch was last Thursday when the biopsy results came in, revealing an aggressive cancer, and that’s when I decided to come out,” he explained, referring to his decision to make his diagnosis public.

Taking pride in being an open and honest man, Mark refused to mitigate his condition by saying, ‘I can’t say I’m fine, but the overwhelming support, love and messages I’ve had were incredible. ‘
