The death of YouTube personality Ben Potter at the age of 40 occurred as a result of a single-vehicle accident on I-25 near Fort Collins, Colorado, on Saturday morning.
Colorado State Patrol officials said TMZ Potter succumbed to injuries he sustained in the accident, in which he was wearing a seat belt.
Authorities told the outlet that the Toyota 4Runner SUV Potter was driving ‘crossed the other side of the interstate’ before going off the right shoulder and rolling over several times.
Potter was the only person in the van in the incident, authorities told the outlet, noting that no other vehicles were involved.
The crash remained under investigation, police told the outlet, adding that there was “no indication that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed were involved” in the fatal incident.

Potter’s wife, Nathalie, described her husband’s death as an “unfortunate accident” in a statement on Comicstorian’s Twitter page.
“Two days ago, on June 8, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident,” Nathalie said.
She highlighted his work as a content creator, saying, “For many of you, he was Comicstorian and expressed stories from multiple different mediums.”
“To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most caring people anyone could ask for.”
Nathalie mentioned her late spouse’s “loving and genuine” nature “as a husband, son, brother, friend or even just a stranger.”
And he added: “He was someone who listened and spent time with his loved ones.” He would go out of his way to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay.
“He was our rock and calmed his loved ones when they needed it.”
Nathalie spoke about her personal feelings amid the tragic moment.

Potter had more than 3 million subscribers on YouTube and had posted more than 3,900 clips.
“He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family,” Nathalie said. ‘I have so many things I need to figure out, but first, I need to cry.
‘I ask that you respect my privacy and that of everyone else. Right now my priority is preserving everything he has built and I have no plans beyond that.
The wife of the late content creator said that her ‘YouTube channel was one of her greatest achievements’ and that she planned to keep it going in due course.
“While we all need our time to grieve, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this,” she said. ‘Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies.
“It was his love of compelling stories and well-written characters that prompted him to start YouTube.”
She said she and Potter’s colleagues “want to keep it up” and honor the late creator by “continuing to tell great stories written by great people, as well as keeping the memory of our own superhero alive.”
And he concluded by saying: “We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I’m not going to stop now.”
