YouTube users report an outage to the online video platform that is currently affecting some 5,000 users.

The report comes after meta products Facebook, Messenger and Instagram crashed globally on Tuesday, affecting millions of users around the world.

The disruption has reached the UK, parts of Europe, China, Australia and Mexico, sending Meta’s share price tumbling.

Google-owned YouTube addressed the issue via X this morning, telling users, “We’re on it!” and “we’ll follow up here once things get back to normal.”

Addressing the Meta outage, a source within Facebook told DailyMail.com that the company’s internal systems were also down.

Around 10:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, DownDetector, which monitors online outages, began showing hundreds of thousands in the US alone were having problems with Facebook and tens of thousands with Instagram.

The Facebook and Messenger outages arose when users noticed they were being kicked out of their accounts and unable to log back in, even with the proper credentials.

Users soon began flocking to X to complain about the outage and share memes, much to the delight of owner Elon Musk.

Some people who had problems initially thought their accounts might have been hacked, but there are over 80,000 posts on X about Facebook and Instagram going down.

Many users were trying to log into Facebook thinking their accounts had been hacked, unaware that a global outage was occurring.
