A 28-year-old couple who fell in love after meeting while working in retail admits they are often mistaken for father and daughter.
Harriette Simmons, 30, from Norwich, a YouTube influencer, met the love of her life Micky Lowe, 58, March 2014.
The couple said that sparks immediately flew between them and they soon started dating.
Harriette saw a future with the carpenter from the early stages of their relationship, but Micky didn’t think their romance would last due to their age of 28.
Six years later they are moving forward quickly and they are still doing well, which proves many people are wrong – with Harriette even getting along with Micky’s three sons Liam, 27, Jake, 30 and Joss, 32, despite being the same age to be.

While the public has not gotten excited about their relationship, the couple claim their families were nothing but supportive. Speaking of Micky, Harriette says her grandmother and grandfather ‘love him’.
For years, they have built an online presence to support other age difference pairs on YouTube and now have over 72,000 subscribers and nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram.
“We met through work and six years later we’re here. I even remember the first time I saw him and what he was wearing, “Harriette said.
“We went on a few dates and one day I asked Micky if he wanted to see if we could make it official and see what happened from there.

Harriette (photo) said meeting Micky was love at first sight, he was handsome and she loved his personality
“Micky used to say he didn’t think it was going to be long when we first met, he said I was young and thought it was just a phase for me, he said even if it was just a few months , it would be the best few months.
“It was like that for me [love at first sight]; I thought Micky was handsome and I loved his personality, he made me laugh and smile, he treated me like a lady and respected me.
‘I noticed that we also shared the same interests as we have always wanted to travel through India, we have the same taste in music, film and we both have a taste for food, especially ice cream and chocolate.
“Our families were not shocked, but I think they were interested in meeting us both. My nanny and grandpa love him to pieces.

“If we’ve been in public, people have mixed us up as father and daughter. The hurtful comments we have are all online from comments on my YouTube channel or on my Instagram page. ‘
Although they have received some backlash about their relationship online, they have no regrets and Harriette even spends time with Micky’s three sons, who love her.
She continued, “We haven’t had really hard times in our relationship, touch wood. But if anything came up, I know we would stick together and try to get through it.
“Micky’s youngest son lived with us for a while and it was nice to have him around. We all live in different cities so we don’t see each other as much as we would like but when we do we always have a good time.

“Me and Micky plan to complete the conversion of the old carriage we bought so we can travel with our pugs and vlog them for my YouTube channel. We do not intend to have children; the pugs are enough for us.
“In the end, we don’t hurt anyone, we love each other, take care of each other, make each other laugh and smile, we have our ups and downs like any other couple, we are no different from any other couple.
“I choose to be with Micky because I love him and that’s all that matters, I didn’t choose him because of his age.
“People don’t choose to have a relationship because of each other’s ages, but for reasons like love, trust, friendship, etc.”
