Young driver in allegedly defective Ford Falcon charged with 107 offences in Darling Downs area

A young driver reportedly strolling around his neighborhood in a broken down and unregistered car has been charged with more than 100 crimes.

The 21-year-old was stopped on February 18 while driving a supposedly broken down and uninsured Ford Falcon at Caleys Court in Lockrose, west of Brisbane.

During footage from the arrest, a Queensland police officer can be heard saying they have received at least seven videos of the car allegedly performing burnouts on the roads of the Darling Downs area between February 7 and February 18.

“This should never be on the road,” says the officer.

The car was reportedly at the center of investigations into dangerous traffic violations in the area.

The 21-year-old was stopped on February 18 while driving a supposedly broken down and uninsured Ford Falcon at Caleys Court in Lockrose, west of Brisbane.

During his initial arrest, he was originally charged with several offences, but after examining and analyzing his mobile phone, the 21-year-old was taken into custody on March 1 and faced a total of 107 charges.

The violations include 23 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and 25 counts each of an unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle and defective vehicle.

He was also charged with seven counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count of possession of anything that could be used in the commission of a felony and driving a cell phone.

The 21-year-old man will appear before Gatton Magistrates Court on April 24.  Police are investigating and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
