A young man died when a tree fell while he was sleeping in his boot during a camping trip.
Alex Oates, 27, was camping with a friend in Kevington, Victoria, when a tree fell on their campsite near Eildon-Jamieson Road about 3am on Saturday.
Emergency services said the tree may have been gnawed by termites, causing it to fall.

Alex’s family said he was always available to help his friends.
“The world has lost a beautiful soul,” they said.
The police will prepare a report for the coroner.
