Young Aussies are now using root concealer hairspray designed to cover grey hair to create faux freckles: ‘It’s genius’

Date:

Young Australians have been swept up in a ‘weird’ new beauty trend that sees them using temporary hair color spray in a shocking way.

Makeup enthusiasts have found dozens of ways to follow the fake freckles trend — and the latest involves a light dab of instant concealer spray meant for hair on cheeks and nose.

Popular makeup artist and TikTok star Sydney Morgan recently went viral for cutting a heart-shaped stencil out of printer paper and using it as a guide to spray colored hairspray on it.

“I think the heart shape works because the natural freckles are concentrated in that area,” she said, pointing to her nose and the inside of her forehead.

Sydney then peeled back the piece of paper to reveal the fruit of her labor.

The spray-on freckles originally left a hard line on her forehead where the paper ended, but Sydney just used a foundation brush to blend it in seamlessly.

“Wait, why does it look so natural?” she asked after revealing the light brown spots on her face.

The makeup artist gave the hack an eight out of ten rating and said she would recommend others to try it as well.

Several Australian TikTokers have also tried the trend, hoping to emulate Sydney’s success.

Chloe Dillon uploaded a video of her failed DIY freckles that served as a humorous cautionary tale.

She first sprayed the product on a handkerchief and on her hand before closing her eyes and applying it blindly to her face, creating a wide brown blur on her eyes, nose, cheeks and forehead.

Australian TikTokeuse Chloe Dillion has gone viral with her failed attempt to start a trend where she blindly applied the spray to her face, creating a big brown blur.

The young mum wiped it off and tried a second and third time to no avail.

“It’s the funniest thing I’ve seen,” commented one of his fans.

“The first try looks like something exploding in someone’s face in a cartoon,” a second joked.

“Okay, but like the last try, it was pretty good, just clean around your eyes and put some setting powder, blush and all that!” » suggested a third.

A British beauty guru, who goes by the name Maggie A online, has also gone viral after using the spray on her face covering her face in dark black spots.

“It’s safe to say that it’s not for me. I will never try that again.

“I know you’ve seen this all over your TikTok so naturally I have to give it a try,” said the Australian who lives in Denmark.

She applied a light spray of hair color to her nose and cheeks with the smudges creating a sun-kissed look.

“The camera doesn’t do it justice. It looks so natural – it’s a cent out of ten to me,” she said.
