Netflix has officially announced the release date for the fifth and final season of You

Netflix has officially announced the release date for the fifth and final season of You, sending fans into a frenzy.

Alongside a chilling video revisiting the gruesome crimes of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), the streaming giant revealed that the final episodes will drop on the platform on April 24.

In the teaser clip, Joe said goodbye to “you” in a creepy voiceover to viewers.

“Do you remember me?” he asks. ‘Because I remember you. Here we are together again, back to where it started.

‘A lot has happened in all those years together: identities, cities, loves, complications.

“But all of that has brought me here, to the now, where I should have always been.

“And the one constant, the one thing that has always been there for me, is you. You who have been there all the time and will be with me until the end.

“Goodbye, you.”

Netflix also called last season “a great finale.”

“In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires,” the official synopsis teases.

Your fans are already full of anticipation for the upcoming episodes – and hoping that Joe will finally be caught.

“It’s been so long, give me YOU immediately!” wrote one.

Another enthused: ‘HELL YEAH! I NEED TO RENEW MY SUBSCRIPTION QUICKER THAN I THOUGHT! I’m so excited, oh my God!’

A third added: “We’ve waited so long and it’s almost finally here!”

“I’m ready for him to get caught,” said a fourth.

A fifth joked: “The only toxic person I’m looking forward to seeing this spring.”

Netflix announced in March 2023 that You would end with a fifth and final series.

In the fourth season of You, Joe got a taste of his own medicine from a vengeful serial killer while trying to keep a low profile under a new identity.

After killing ten people over the past three seasons, he couldn’t escape his past with the ‘Eat the Rich Killer’ in London.

After moving to the British capital and starting a new life as Professor Jonathan Moore, Joe faced a new heartbreak that he ominously called the “catalyst for a new path.”
