Families of Lucy Letby’s victims told the child killer: “You’re evil, you did this”, describing her watching them lose their babies as “something out of a horror story”.
Manchester Crown Court heard a series of harrowing statements read out in Letby’s absence after she refused to enter the bench to be sentenced.
One mother, whose baby was known as Child C, choked back tears as she told Letby in his absence: “At least now there is no debate that, in your own words, you killed them on purpose. You are evil, you did this.
“Lucy Letby, to think that you could get some kind of gratification from inflicting pain on Joseph and seeing our suffering afterwards goes against everything I believe it is to be human.
“I am horrified that someone so evil exists. For you, our son’s life was collateral damage in your persistent desire for drama, attention, praise and sympathy.”
