Yellowstone fans weren’t exactly thrilled with the final episode’s heavy focus on Taylor Sheridan, the show’s creator who also plays horse trainer Travis Wheatley.
The social media consensus was clear: Sheridan took on far too much of the action for a character who is little more than a minor part.
Many fans were quick to point out that this seemed intentional – now that series star Kevin Costner is no longer part of the show.
Costner left Yellowstone before part two of the final season 5 in June, amid much drama, including rumors of a feud between him and Sheridan.
Now it looks like Sheridan has made up for the absence of Costner’s John Dutton with some screen time of his own, complete with a strip poker game with real-life supermodel Bella Hadid.
’15 minutes of story and scenes wasted watching Taylor Sheridan showboat on his own show, partying and just doing his thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does that in real life too,” wrote one unimpressed viewer.
Taylor also played a central role in the finale of his show Lioness on Sunday. And he had a role in the Yellowstone prequel 1883.

Another added: ‘As if Taylor Sheridan wasted one of the last episodes of this show by inserting himself so he could parade around half-naked women. We could have had eight more Kevin Costner episodes instead of this bs #Yellowstone.”
One fan complained, “Yes, and they handled the best actor on the show, @modernwest, Kevin Costner. He was willing to come back, and of course Sheridan’s ego got in the way. What a sad ending for John Dutton’s legacy.’
Someone else joked: ‘Be generous with those 15 minutes 🙂 It felt more like an hour with 25 minutes of storylines that we actually want to see.’
According to another critic, the episode had the subtlety of a flashing neon sign, as they noted, “The episode was a look at me, I’m Taylor Sheridan.” He might as well have Kevin Costner just getting out of the shower at this point.”
As for the rumored feud between Tyalro and Kevin, another follower said, “I think we know now: what caused the feud with Costner, oh boy, Sheridan wanted to be the guy lol, and I sure miss Costner in editing of this man’s horrible video. scripts.’
Naturally, fans were shocked by a surprise cameo from Hadid and her boyfriend Adan Banuelos in Sunday’s penultimate episode.
In the new episode, Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) traveled to Texas to monitor Travis Wheatley (Sheridan) selling the ranch’s horses, following last week’s episode that saw another shocking death.
Fans were quite surprised when Beth knocked on Travis’s door and discovered that his girlfriend Sadie, played by Hadid, who in addition to being a supermodel was also an accomplished equestrian, answered the door.
The social media consensus was clear: Sheridan took on far too much of the action for a character who is little more than a small part of the action.
Her boyfriend Banuelos – an accomplished cowboy himself who was elected to the NCHA Riders Hall of Fame at the age of 28, the youngest ever inducted – also appeared in a brief scene of Travis playing strip poker.
Fans didn’t hesitate to take to X (formerly Twitter) to convey their surprise at seeing this couple make their cameo appearances.

“Bella Hadid on tonight’s episode of Yellowstone and unsurprisingly she is breathtaking,” said @berstreet.
He was just a minor character on the show for many episodes, but now his role has expanded
Kevin brought A-list power for years
Although Bella Hadid is best known as a supermodel, she is also an accomplished rider who once aspired to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
However, her mother Yolanda revealed in January 2016 that her daughter had to give up her equestrian dreams after she was diagnosed with Lyme disease, as she had to leave the sport.
“Bella had to give up her lifelong dream of a professional riding career and a shot at the Olympics because of her severe symptoms and her inability to ride,” Yolanda said.
‘This was the biggest heartbreak of her life and an extremely sensitive subject for her. She is resilient and focused on a new direction. She has made a name for herself in the modeling industry while battling the symptoms of chronic Lyme every day,” she added.
Hadid got back in the saddle when she was spotted at an equestrian event in Florida in March 2023.
She was also photographed on horseback with boyfriend Adan Banuelos at the New York City premiere of his short film series Window To The West.
Hadid is also no stranger to acting, appearing in three episodes of Ramy and four episodes of Love Advent.
It remains to be seen whether both Hadid and Banuelos will return for next week’s Yellowstone finale or not.

The episode featured no deaths, although it did appear to be an epic finale.
The family auctioned off all the ranch’s horses and livestock, as many ranch hands questioned the future of the Yellowstone-Dutton ranch.
While the millions they made at auction once bought them, Kayce came up with a way he thinks he can save the ranch: by giving it away.
Who Kayce plans to give away the ranch to remains to be seen, though it’s possible he could give it back to the Indians, completing a theory fans have suggested since the 1883 prequel finale.
An Indian told John Dutton’s great-great-grandfather that his family would control this land for seven generations before his people took it back.
John Dutton’s family is actually the seventh generation to run the ranch, and it looks like Kayce might give up the ranch to save it in next week’s finale.
Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) told Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith) that he wanted him to stay on the ranch to help “build it back up” while the rest of the ranch hands wondered where they could work next .
Teeter (Jennifer Landon) mourned the loss of Colby (Denim Richards), with Beth helping by taking her to a tourist bar to mess with the out-of-towners.

Beth also apparently leaked information about her brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) to the press while police were investigating Sarah Atwood’s (Dawn Olivieri) company Market Equities.
Jamie insisted that if she ruins him, she would ruin the entire family, although she insisted that she reveal that he was actually adopted by John and is not related by blood to the Dutton’s.
Next week’s finale will feature John Dutton’s funeral, with Beth whispering into her father’s coffin, “I will avenge you.”
Yellowstone returns with its massive finale on Sunday, December 15 at 8pm ET on Paramount Network.
