Kevin Costner of Yellowstone and the lead actor of the popular Paramount series pulled out of a convention at the last minute, adding to speculation of the main star’s exit.
Fans of the show who paid $100 for a ticket to PaleyFest, who were expecting to see the star-studded cast at Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Saturday night, were disappointed.
Costner and co-creator Taylor Sheridan, along with other stars from the cast, including Kelly Riley, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Aspel, Wes Betley, Jill Birmingham, and Jackie Weaver are listed as having attended the screening and Q&A panel. But none of them showed up.
diverse It was said that the main cast was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts. But the lack of attendance left fans wondering if the second half of Season 5 will actually happen and if Costner will return.
Last month, Costner reportedly asked Paramount Network executives to let him spend just one week filming the second half of Season 5 in Yellowstone.

The only cast members to appear are Josh Lucas, who plays the younger John Dutton, Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), Dawn Oliveri (Sarah Atwood) and Wendy Muniz (Lynette Perry).

Costner, who recently won a Golden Globe for his performance as John Dutton on the show, is now directing and starring in his own multi-part Western epic, Horizon, which he co-wrote with John Bird. It was picked up by Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinemas.
But, unnamed sources familiar with the negotiations said network executives have rejected his offer — and are instead moving forward with a new spin-off series starring Matthew McConaughey.
Costner stars in Yellowstone as John Dutton, the patriarch of the Dutton clan, and it frustrates show creator Taylor Sheridan and is said to cause morale problems among other cast members, including Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Aspel and Jill Birmingham, it was reported last month.

I have no news to report. I just know Taylor’s writing and we know he’s a prolific writer and I’m excited to see it when it comes,” Muniz she told Yahoo Entertainment On the red carpet Saturday night.

Fans who were expecting to see the stars took to Twitter to vent their outrage.
“Yeah as someone who paid over $100 for a ticket I’m so pissed off. Totally bait and switch. People are getting out,” someone tweeted Saturday night as the painting began.
Another asked, “Will there be refunds for the #yellowstone #PaleyFest We drove two hours to the cast you said you’d be here.” What a joke and rip off.
Yellowstone has been a boon to the cable news network and its streaming platform.

The 68-year-old actor asked Paramount Network executives to let him spend just one week filming the second half of Season 5 as he worked on his passion project.

As Deadline reports, the success of the 1883 and 1923 prequel series, combined with anticipation for upcoming shows, has made the studio less dependent on hit series than it was just two years ago.
1883, which stars country music stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott, premieres in December 2021, and tells the story of how the Duttons came to own the sprawling, Montana-based Dutton Ranch.
It was followed the next year by 1923, starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. The show is set to return for a second and final season, chronicling the family’s troubles during the Western Expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression.
Sheridan is also said to be planning another limited series documenting the family’s struggles to keep the farm in the 1940s and 1960s.
