Yebble, WA: A major ocean rescue operation is underway to save the life of a surfer suffering from serious spinal injuries.

Western Australian emergency services have launched a major rescue operation to save the life of an injured surfer in the state’s southwest.

A young woman in her 20s is believed to have suffered spinal injuries while surfing near the Lefthanders break at Yebble, near Margaret River, on Friday morning.

The RAC rescue helicopter has arrived at the scene to assist state emergency services and paramedics at the scene.
