Yankees fans were cracking up on social media when they saw that Alex Rodriguez’s “ideal” date is just him and his girlfriend, Jaclyn Cordeiro, hanging out while watching the team play on a live stream.
On Monday, Cordeiro took to Instagram to show off her black leather dress on her story, as she got ready to enjoy her evening with the former MLB star.
However, the fitness guru later uploaded a snap of her man enjoying the Yankees vs. Washington Nationals series on a pier, presumably not too far from New York City, as they took in the sunset together.
“Gotta respect A-Rod’s idea of date night,” Talkin’ Yankees, a fan account for the team, shared in reaction to Cordeiro’s Instagram story on X.
“Date night but we’re just sitting on a dock watching the Yankees game on an iPad,” noted another person, seemingly unimpressed by A-Rod’s plans to take his girlfriend out on Monday.

Some X users mocked the former Yankees slugger while others were unimpressed.
“There’s no way this girl is excited about the result,” another person said.
“He really likes FR,” another user joked.
“Please… He’s so desperate to be like the Yankees why aren’t we going to retire his number,” one Pinstripes fan noted.
A-Rod, who has been dating Cordeiro since 2022, spent two seasons with the Yankees, first from 2004 to 2013 and then from 2015 to 2016. He was named American League MVP in 2005 and 2007 and won a World Series with the team in 2009.
A-Rod opted out of his contract after the 2007 season, and then signed a new 10-year, $275 million deal with the Yankees, breaking his own record for the richest contract in the sport.
A-Rod and Cordeiro, a fitness instructor, have been dating since late 2022, according to reports.
He became the youngest player to reach 500 home runs, reaching the milestone in 2007. Two years later, A-Rod helped the Yankees overcome the Philadelphia Phillies in their quest for the World Series.
Towards the end of his career, he was plagued by hip and knee injuries, causing him to become a designated hitter exclusively.
A-Rod, a shortstop who played third base for the Yankees to accommodate Derek Jeter at his natural position, played his final MLB game on August 12, 2016.
He is currently co-owner of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and has two children from a previous marriage, but neither with Cordeiro.
