The New York Yankees have failed to extend their undefeated streak of five straight wins, as the Arizona Diamondbacks are off to their best start to an MLB season since 1992, when they still finished with a losing record.
After sweeping the Houston Astros in a four-game series earlier this week, and a 5-2 road win against the Diamondbacks on Monday, the Yankees are now 5-1 following the tough loss Tuesday 7-0 at Arizona, although this season marked the first time in franchise history that the pinstripes won all five of their season road games.
What’s more, this season marks the fifth time in franchise history that the Yankees are off to a 5-0 start.

However, they failed to capitalize on their strong start to that campaign, as they finished with a 76-88 record, or a 70-88 mark after their impressive first week of action.
