Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez placed on seven-day IL in Triple-A

The Martian has landed at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees announced the following roster moves Monday afternoon:

• Withdrawn from the market Jason Dominguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
• INF returned Jon Berti from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 60-day disabled list
• Placed INF DJ Le Mahieu on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Sept. 6) with a right hip impingement
• LHP designated Antonio Misiewicz For assignment

According SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino Domínguez “is here to play almost every day.”

The Bombers return to the Bronx for seven games, beginning with a three-game series against Kansas City that kicks off Monday night.

Just last Friday, the general manager Brian Cashman He told reporters that Alex Verdugo – not Dominguez – gives the Yankees the best chance to win right now as the team’s starting left fielder.

“If he comes (to the major leagues), he’ll have to play every day,” Cashman said of Dominguez.

One of the top prospects in all of baseball, Dominguez has had a tremendous season in the minors as he has recovered from Tommy John surgery he underwent in 2023. In 58 minor league games, Dominguez has hit .314/.376/.504 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs.

Meanwhile, it’s been a season to forget for LeMahieu, who began the season on the IL with a broken foot and is hitting just .204 in 201 at-bats.
