Yankees captain Aaron Judge will go on the disabled list with a sprained toe after his defensive heroics saw him crash into a bullpen
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is heading to the injured list with the foot injury he suffered Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to reports.
Judge injured his toe when he hit the concrete base of the outfield fence as he ran through the wall to the bullpen while performing a spectacular grab against the Dodgers.
The 31-year-old outfielder was diagnosed with a bruised and sprained toe ligament according to manager Aaron Boone.
Earlier in the day, Boone had announced that Judge would at least miss Tuesday night’s game and mentioned that Judge was scheduled to meet with doctors later that evening.
The four-time All-Star underwent a test Monday to determine the extent of his injury.

Judge injured his right big toe after colliding with the wall against the Dodgers
While speaking on Sunday, the judge did not rule out the possibility that the toe was broken.
‘If I’m on [the injured list], I’m on it. But I try not to be. Who knows?’ said the judge. “I don’t have an answer yet.”
Pitcher Gerrit Cole called the concrete ledge at the base of the wall “pretty dangerous” after Saturday’s game.
Boone hoped it would be something MLB or the Dodgers organization would look into for future safety concerns.
“Hopefully that’s something they’re looking at,” Boone said. “I think all of these places are trying to do their best to make things as safe as possible.”
“But to me it looks like the cement at the bottom could be padded a bit. I hope it’s something they will look into and at least consider, which I’m sure they will.
