A historic ranch in Wyoming with stunning views of the Tetons has gone on the market for $39.5 million.
Lost Creek Ranch, a sprawling 50-acre property in the heart of one of the nation’s most beautiful national parks, is up for sale for the first time in 54 years.
The Jackson Hole property, which currently operates as a guest ranch, features a grand main lodge, ten staterooms, and its own 5,000 square foot spa with a heated pool and hot tub.
But even with all the luxuries the ranch offers, it’s the stunning scenery that surrounds it that steals the show – with DailyMail.com previously reporting how billionaire ‘cowboys’ are taking over ranches, just like Lost Creek. A bay window inside the main lodge offers unparalleled views of the Tetons, a famous range hailed by Theodore Roosevelt as “the first mountains I saw that looked like mountains.”
Latham Jenkins, a broker with Live Water Properties, which markets the ranch, said Cowboy State Daily“When you live on a property like Lost Creek, you start to see how important it is to be a great steward of that land, because you’re only part of it for a while and then we all move on to something else.”

He added: “These types of properties are extremely rare in the world, due to the uniqueness of the setting,” Jenkins said. “These are very, very rare holdings.”
In addition to the existing amenities, which also include a horse coral, barn and skeet ranges, the property has the rights to add a 2,500 square foot house and a 1,500 square foot manager’s house.
The ranch site was first developed in the late 1800s. Albert Schwabacher purchased the land in 1927 and turned it into a guest ranch.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, so he chose to make the ranch primarily a recreational place.
The ranch was acquired by the current owners, the Halpin family, in 1968.

The property currently operates as a guest ranch and other amenities include a large gym

In addition to the main house, there are ten cabins on the property. The new owner could decide to keep it as a guest ranch or turn it into a private ranch

The ranch is up for sale for the first time in more than five decades
A history of the property on its website states: ‘The Halpin family became the sole owner of Lost Creek Ranch in 1989.
Over the years, subsequent generations of the Halpin family have brought families together to enjoy Jackson Hole’s incredible wildlife, scenic beauty and recreational opportunities.
Jerry Halpin, the family patriarch who died in 2017, also founded the Grand Teton National Park Foundation in 1997. That legacy is now inextricably tied to the land.
Jenkins added: ‘Since its inception, more than $110 million has been raised to support park initiatives to ensure that the guest experience, just like here at the ranch, is as positive as possible for the over 4s. million visitors who pass through Grand Teton National Park.

“They don’t know the goodwill of others to help secure this experience in these parks, which are magical and such a treasure in the United States, and really, you know, respected around the world.”
A new owner could continue to operate it as a guest ranch or make it a private retreat.
The current guest ranch charges $8,200 per week for a two-person stay or double that for a family of four.
Jenkins said: “This price includes three meals a day, plus all adventure travel. It’s actually a great value. If you were to try to do all of this separately, it would cost, believe it or not, more than that.
