WWE legend The Undertaker looks unrecognisable from his wrestling heyday as wife Michelle McCool reveals his fans sent her death threats

For years, he was defined by his long curly locks, menacing highlights and leather trench coat.

Yet WWE legend The Undertaker was unrecognizable from his boxing heyday as he appeared in a Patreon Q&A for his Six feet under the show.

The retired wrestler, 58, swapped the inside of a fancy coffin for a recording studio as he joined his wife Michelle McCool for the podcast appearance.

With his long shaved locks and signature eyeliner, The Undertaker, real name Mark Callaway, revealed how his legendary status impacted the career of two-time WWE Divas Champion Michelle.

He explained: “She took a huge amount of grief, obviously from dating the best guy.”

WWE legend The Undertaker was unrecognizable from his boxing heyday (right, in character) when he appeared during a Patreon Q&A for his Six Feet Under Show.

McCool added: “Not only did his fans legitimately hate me because they thought they were married to him or something, but sometimes it’s like death threats. In this regard, I understood it.

“So of course, everything I did or said, no matter what type of work I was doing, because I was dating The Undertaker, even with co-workers, it was very draining on me.”

Callaway explained: “I saw the frustration, I saw the work that she did. I never helped the girls because most of them were only there to climb a flight of stairs to go somewhere else.

“Her work ethic and what she put into it was different. This obviously wasn’t fair. You know what you’re getting into when you cross that line, but it wasn’t fair because she tried so hard.

The couple began dating in the late 2000s and married in 2010.

They welcomed their first child, daughter Kaia, in 2012 and later adopted son Kolt.

Callaway also has three children from his first two wives.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Callaway revealed that he recently talked himself out of making a return to WWE.

Callaway has not wrestled in WWE since 2020, with his last match coming at that year’s WrestleMania against AJ Styles in a cinematic Boneyard match.

He has made sporadic appearances in the promotion since, most recently appearing late last year on NXT, facing Bron Breakker, and regularly visits the performance center to help impart his wisdom to current stars.

But he revealed that he still missed wrestling, even if his body didn’t match his mind, and that a return never seemed entirely off the table.

“It’s still difficult for me,” he said. “I’m still dealing with it. And I may or may not have told my wife recently that I was going to make a comeback. Luckily, I think I talked myself out of that.

“No, there’s not one more match. It was like I just came back from Australia, I was tired and I knew I had a lot of things to come. And it was just me felt comfortable saying it.

“Don’t expect it. There is no more match. Don’t even start.

A number of current WWE stars have asked The Undertaker, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, to come out of retirement for a match, although that seems off the agenda for the moment.

That doesn’t mean the love of the game has gone, however, and the 58-year-old has explained how he was forced to retire.

“I knew my time had come, but I wasn’t ready for it to come,” he said. “I just knew my body couldn’t deliver what my mind and heart wanted to deliver to the fans. So it was a little difficult.

“You have to remember that for more than half my life, being in the ring is what I did. And then it’s no longer there. And it does, it leaves a huge void inside you. Because you’re trying to fill that void, which was a passion, and you’re trying to figure out what that next passion is and what you’re going to sink your teeth into.

“There just may not be something that will fill that void.”

He had feuds with a number of legends before calling it quits – but he’s made sporadic appearances since (pictured with Kane, left, and Edge, center).
