Wrestling legend Sid Eudy, also known as ‘Sycho Sid’, has passed away at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer, according to his family.
Eudy’s son, Gunnar, published in FacebookDear Friends and Family, I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years. He was a strong, kind and loving man, and his presence will be greatly missed.
‘We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we mourn this loss. We will share details of a memorial service soon. Thank you for your support.’
Also known as ‘Sid Vicious’ and ‘Sid Justice’, Eudy competed in the WWF (now known as WWE) and WCW.
Standing at an imposing 2.05 metres tall, he established a memorable legacy as a six-time world champion, including twice in the WWF.
Sid Eudy began his career in WCW in the 1990s before moving to the WWF.
Eudy stood at a whopping 2 metres tall and became a six-time world champion in his career.
The WWE official website writes that if it weren’t for a leg injury in 2001, “Sid’s successes would likely have been compared to the best in WWE history.”
Tributes poured in for the beloved fighter, with Eudy’s former colleague Marc Mero writing a touching tribute. in X.
“It’s very sad to learn that our friend and wrestling superstar Sid Eudy (Sid Vicious and Sid Justice) has passed away at the age of 63 due to cancer,” he wrote.
“He was one of the first wrestlers I wrestled when I was trying out for WCW. He’s a great guy. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and millions of fans.”
