The Undertaker has revealed that he recently talked himself out of returning to WWE.

The character, whose real name is Mark Callaway, has not wrestled in WWE since 2020, and his last match was at that year’s WrestleMania against AJ Styles in a cinematic graveyard match.

He has made sporadic appearances in the promotion since then, most recently appearing late last year on NXT, facing Bron Breakker, and is regularly at the performance center to help pass on his wisdom to current stars.

But he revealed that he still misses wrestling even though his body doesn’t match his mind, and a return never seems completely out of the equation.

Speaking at a Patreon Q&A for his Six feet under the showCalaway revealed that he recently spoke to his wife about a comeback before later ruling it out.

WWE legend The Undertaker has revealed that he had to talk himself out of returning to the promotion.

The 58-year-old retired in 2020 after a career that spanned several decades in wrestling.

He enjoyed fights with several legends before calling it a day; However, he has made sporadic appearances since then.

“It’s still hard for me,” he said. ‘I’m still dealing with it. And he may or may not have told my wife recently that he was coming back. Fortunately, I think I’ve talked myself out of it.

‘No, there is no more game. It was as if he had just returned from Australia, he was tired and knew that he had a lot of things ahead of him. And that was me feeling comfortable saying it.

‘Don’t wait for it. There is no more game. Don’t even start.

Several current WWE stars have asked The Undertaker, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, to come out of retirement for a match, although that seems off the agenda for now.

But that doesn’t mean the love for the game has disappeared, and the 58-year-old explained how he was forced to face retirement.

The Undertaker said he spoke with his wife, Michelle McCool (right), about a possible return.

WWE is currently led by Triple H, one of The Undertaker’s biggest on-screen rivals in his career.

“I knew my time had come, but I wasn’t prepared for it,” he said. ‘I just knew my body couldn’t fulfill what my mind and heart wanted to give the fans. So it was a little difficult.

‘You have to remember that, for more than half of my life, being in the ring is what I did. And then it’s not there anymore. And it does, it leaves you with a huge void. Because you’re trying to fill that void, which was a passion, and you’re trying to figure out what that next passion is and what you’re going to sink your teeth into.

“There may not be anything that will ever fill that void.”
