WWE Backlash France 2024: full card, live updates, results, ratings and analysis

It’s a relatively light card in terms of the number of games on Saturday in Lyon, France, but the stakes are high as four of the five games will be championship games. This is how I see everything moving:

WWE Undisputed Championship: Cody Rhodes (c.) vs. AJ Styles —Will this match be a real success? Yes. Will Cody Rhodes’ reign end after four weeks? No. It’s really that simple: there is no way Rhodes won’t leave France with the WWE Undisputed Championship. He grabs your popcorn, enjoys the show, and watches two of WWE’s best go toe-to-toe in the main event. Prediction: Cody Rhodes defeats. AJ Styles will retain the WWE Undisputed Championship

World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest (c.) vs. Jey Uso – Jey Uso winning here would ignite the Lyon crowd, but I don’t see that happening, particularly with Rhea Ripley’s injury dealing a significant blow to Judgment Day’s status. Priest should have a long run as World Heavyweight Champion and there may be a time for Jey Uso to finally dethrone him, it won’t come weeks after the Archer of Infamy shocked the wrestling world at WrestleMania 40. Prediction: Damian Priest defeats. Jey Uso will retain the World Heavyweight Championship

WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley (c.) vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton — While there’s always a chance to protect Bayley in a championship change here, I don’t think she’ll lose that quickly after having one of the most memorable WrestleMania moments from last month’s event. The most likely outcome here is Bayley getting the win over Naomi, while Stratton looks strong and sets up a longer program between the two. Prediction: Bayley defeats. Naomi and Tiffany Stratton will retain the WWE Women’s Championship

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Kabuki Warriors (c.) vs. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair — In what could be the end of Damage CTRL, the right move here is for Cargill and Belair to leave France as Women’s Tag Team Champions. They already earned a victory over Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 40 (alongside Naomi) and can continue to elevate the championships on SmackDown in the future. Prediction: Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair will defeat. The Kabuki Warriors will win the Women’s Couples Championship

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs. The Bloodline (Sikoa and Tama Tonga only) — You could argue for either side to win here, but I think it makes the most sense for Sikoa and Tonga to emerge victorious. Making Solo the new leader of Bloodline and Tonga effectively taking over the mantle from him sets up a potential showdown with Roman Reigns down the road and keeps the faction as a significant threat going forward. The finish here may not be clean, but either way Solo and Tonga should come out winners. Prediction: The Bloodline defeated. Kevin Owens and Randy Orton
