Wrexham footballers could star in Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds’ next Deadpool movie, with the club’s manager saying he wouldn’t be surprised if some players were offered cameo roles.
Reynolds, 46, is known for showing off his various projects together — and even wore a Wrexham baseball cap in a trailer to promote his latest Deadpool movie.
But leading scorer Paul Mullin and goalkeeper Ben Foster could well star in the next film, which begins filming later this month.
When asked if there could be any players in the film, Humphrey Ker, Wrexham’s executive director, said: ‘I’d be quite surprised if they didn’t.
“Ryan is really good at, you know, layering all of his partial elements of his life and his career and everything, they’re all connected in all sorts of different ways.”

He added, “I’m sure they’ll be, who knows, Paul Mullin to play one of the X-men?”
The latest in the Deadpool series is even being filmed in Britain, which will make it easier for Wrexham players to take part.
Filming begins later this month at the Pinewood studios, with the movie due out next year.
The teaser revealed to fans how superstar Hugh Jackman will reprieve his Wolverine character in the latest movie.
Film director Shawn Levy has complained that Reynolds has become too obsessed with Wrexham to have time to film Deadpool 3.
Levy, who will direct Deadpool 3, said: “His obsession with Wrexham and for that matter the whole of Wales’s obsession with Ryan Reynolds is starting to get problematic.
“I’m trying to prepare for Deadpool and he’s so distracted by this football team.
“So no, I can’t get you tickets, and I have to tone down his obsession, because he’s not getting any work done.”
Reynolds and comedic friend Rob McElhenney documented their journey to buying the North Wales club with the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham – and saw the team promoted to the English Football League for the first time in 15 years.
To celebrate their promotion to League Two next year, the stars took the team on a lavish trip to Las Vegas.
Wrexham club captain Ben Tozer has lifted the lid on Wrexham’s ‘insane’ promotion party in Las Vegas, claiming co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney had them treated ‘like royalty’ in Sin City.
The non-league side won promotion to League Two with a 111-point National League championship campaign and were rewarded with a five-day blowout in the Nevada desert.

Tozer, still recovering from the trip of a lifetime, gave an account of how it played out, from lavish pool parties and dinner next to the Bellagio Fountain with McElhenney to dancing in the DJ booth to Steve Aoki’s performance.
‘We got there on Thursday before dinner time, they took us to Hakkasan for dinner which was great and then we went to Hakkasan Nightclub and they treated us to the best tables and it was really crazy. Almost everything was insane,” Tozer said talkSPORT.
“The next day they took us to Wet Republic Pool Party which was again the best tables and layout for us and everything was free, and the night was Omnia Nightclub and four of us got to go on stage with Steve Aoki . ‘
However, there was a ‘hitch’ as players had to take two flights to get there, including a short layover in San Francisco.
“The flight was not direct, that was the only problem, apart from that we can’t complain,” he added.
More parties would follow on days three and four, including the Marquee Pool Party and a VIP trip to XS Nightclub where The Chainsmokers played.
Even with a major music artist, players were greeted by staff holding large pieces of gold card with letters to spell ‘Wrexham’.
The trip had been in the works for some time, with players told to “leave their cards at home” if it worked out.
“It became a thing that if we won the league, we would get a holiday. So we’re going to Vegas,” said star striker Paul Mullin, who scored 47 goals this season GK.
“Ryan and Rob told us to leave our cards at home, they’re sorting things out. They just sent us a full itinerary.
“Part of me doesn’t want to go, maybe I’ll be dead at the end! But I’d never go to Vegas on my own accord, so I’m looking forward to it.’
Players certainly made the most of it and were given a hero’s welcome at every nightclub, with clubgoers urging Wrexham to cheer as the Welsh flag was waved and congratulations broadcast on big screens.
Although Reynolds could only check in via FaceTime – attacker Ollie Palmer showed up to him one morning from his hotel room via FaceTime – McElhenney and some associates were able to join the trip.
Players spent an afternoon partying poolside at the Wet Republic Ultra Pool at the MGM Grand.
The National League champions chatted and danced with other partygoers as they soaked up the sun and looked forward to their future in League Two.
