Bill Maher has suggested that the only thing Democratic and Republican voters have in common is that “they both hope their candidates die” before the 2024 election.
The left-wing comedian has openly criticized both Joe Biden, 81, and Donald Trump, 78.
He had previously faced criticism within his own ranks for mocking the president’s shaky gait.
But in an interview with New York Times doubled down on the comments, joking that the octogenarian should accept that he walks “like a little boy with a full diaper.”
The age of both candidates has become a flashpoint in the upcoming elections, with both sides attempting to portray the other as unfit to govern.

Meanwhile, Trump suffered an embarrassing mistake on Friday when he stumbled at the podium while delivering a speech at the Minnesota Republican Party’s annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner in St. Paul.
Maher joked that Biden should just accept his fate and say, “I walk like a little boy with a full diaper, but I believe in democracy.”
The 68-year-old admitted he would still vote for “Biden’s head in a jar of blue liquid” rather than Trump.
However, he acknowledged a growing sense of alienation toward “ridiculous” Democrats in recent years, explaining that’s why he’s targeted them more with his jokes.
“Because they’re dumber and nastier than before,” he said recently on his show. “They also got weirder.”
But he did give credence to Biden’s determination to remain in the Oval Office, while mocking his age.
“He’s crossed oceans of time to be where he is and he’s not going to give up now,” the Club Random podcast host said.

Donald Trump was also branded “weak” by Biden supporters after suffering an embarrassing stumble at a rally in Minnesota on May 17.
He explained that he will continue to criticize the president, even if it causes anger among the left, because it is not his job to cover up any weakness.
Maher reiterated his fears that Trump would challenge the election result as he did in 2020 if he doesn’t win.
“It will be argued and it will be ugly,” Maher said. He previously correctly predicted Trump’s voter fraud line.
Maher also attacked students participating in protests to end the war in Gaza, accusing them of being “hysterical, America-hating, lack of knowledge” who support Hamas.
“It’s hard to understand the idea of people shouting ‘Death to America’ on American soil,” he said.
