Aaron Rodgers is licking his lips at the prospect of playing with new Jets receiver Malachi Corley next season, head coach Robert Saleh revealed.

Corley, the West Kentucky receiver who has been compared to San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel, was selected by New York with the 65th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday.

Immediately after the Jets made their pick, star quarterback Rodgers posted an eyes emoji on his X account to seemingly endorse the pick, before texting Saleh to express his excitement about playing with the 22 years.

“He already got a text, he’s excited,” Saleh said of Rodgers’ thoughts on the team that chose Corley.

The New York coach added about his new receiver: ‘He’s elite with the ball in his hands. He is an angry runner. He obviously calls himself the “YAC KING” and he deserves it. We’ll bring it here.

“Sure he has some things to work on, but at the same time, we love his way of thinking.” We love his playing style. “He is going to provide an added element that we don’t have to our team.”

In his time with West Kentucky, Corley set a school record with 259 career receptions for 2,943 yards and 29 touchdowns.

According to NFL Network’s Peter Schrager, a rival general manager is envious of the Jets’ pick after claiming the receiver “will win multiple angry races this year.”

Earlier this week, Rodgers also appeared to give his lukewarm approval to Jets first-round pick Olu Fashanu, despite admitting that the team didn’t necessarily need another offensive tackle.

Among the major moves the Jets made were signing eight-time Pro Bowl selection Tyron Smith, acquiring offensive tackle Morgan Moses from Baltimore and signing former Ravens guard John Simpson. Despite those signings, Fashanu was selected 11th overall by New York after the Jets missed out on a spot Thursday night.

“We already made three moves in the offseason (to address the offensive line) by bringing in John (Simpson) at guard, Morgan (Moses) at tackle and Tyron (Smith) at tackle as well, so it wasn’t necessarily at the top of needs,” Rodgers said. “But I know they really loved Olu.”

The pick came after the Jets traded the No. 10 overall pick to the Minnesota Vikings, who took Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy.

New York also sent a sixth-rounder (No. 203) to Minnesota, which traded No. 11 overall along with a fourth-rounder (No. 129) and a fifth-rounder (No. 157) at Jets.

“I love what (general manager Joe Douglas) did, going back and getting a couple more picks,” Rodgers said.
