Terrence Crosbie, 37, was charged in March with one count of rape after a 28-year-old woman told police she had been sexually assaulted at the historic Omni Parker House hotel.
On Tuesday morning, Crosbie arrived at the Boston Municipal Courtroom wearing a navy T-shirt over a white long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and handcuffs. He also had a stony expression.
The married father attempted to flee the country on March 16 after being questioned by authorities about his alleged crime. He is due back in court for an evidentiary hearing on May 1.

The Boston tourist was arrested last month after a 28-year-old woman said she woke up to find him sexually assaulting her after they had consensual sex in a hotel room with his friend.
Court documents indicate the alleged victim met Crosbie’s friend at The Black Rose bar and returned to the hotel, where Crosbie and the friend were sharing a room.
The woman and the friend then had consensual sex in the bedroom.
Surveillance video shows Crosbie returning to the hotel about two hours later, after which the woman says she woke up to the horror of being sexually assaulted by Crosbie.
She said she told him to stop and he responded, “This guy is sleeping.” I know you want this.’
Authorities discovered that Crosbie had traveled to Boston from Dublin with several other members of the Dublin Fire Brigade for a typical drunken weekend.
After being questioned by police on March 16, he immediately attempted to leave the country. He booked a red-eye flight for the night of the interview, several days before the scheduled departure date.
In fact, Crosbie boarded a flight scheduled to depart even earlier than the one he had booked out of panic, but members of the Massachusetts State Police stopped the plane on the tarmac and detained Crosbie.

At the time, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said the department was grateful for the victim’s “willingness to come forward” and “deserves enormous credit for doing so in this case.”
“I am grateful for the vigilance of the police in discovering that Mr Crosbie was attempting to leave the country before he could be held responsible for his actions,” he added.
Authorities ordered Crosbie held on $100,000 bail and surrender his passport. He was also ordered not to leave the state of Massachusetts.
When the chief fire officer of Dublin Fire Brigade became aware of his employee’s allegedly sublegal activities abroad, he immediately placed Crosbie on leave.

In a series of social media posts uncovered after his arrest, it was revealed that Crosbie had something of a dirty streak when speaking candidly about sex.
On October 10, 2021, the firefighter posted an X-rated message for his wife’s birthday.
“Happy birthday babe… I’ll break your cervix later,” he wrote above a photo of the couple.
In a 2017 post, he wrote about his desire to see a soccer match in Amsterdam, before offering his opinion on a very different facet of the city.
‘Ajax away will be a relegation [sic] journey. “6ft blondes and Europe’s most unreported rape capital, even if it’s Vigo vs Lyon, are worth a trip,” she wrote.
