Beyond Paradise viewers were left disappointed after watching the finale of the BBC show’s second season.
In the episode, which aired on Friday night, DI Humphrey Goodman (played by Kris Marshall) and Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) almost got married.
However, the long-awaited wedding didn’t end up happening, leaving some fans feeling both excited and disappointed.
One wrote on social media platform X: ‘Disappointed there was no wedding. Just a very poor ending’;
‘I wanted to see the wedding, the speeches, the first dance and the vows. I feel more than betrayed’;

Following the finale, the BBC announced that Beyond Paradise will return for a third series and a Christmas special.
The Death In Paradise spin-off show hit screens last year and saw Kris Marshall reprise his role as Detective Inspector as he tries to adjust to life with his fiancée, played by Not Going Out’s Sally Bretton, on the Devonshire coast.
During the series’ final episode, the couple’s foster trip came to an end and they welcomed Ryan into their home.
Elsewhere, the professional relationship of Agent Kelby Hartford (Dylan Llewellyn) and CS Charlie Woods (Jade Harrison) took an unexpected turn and Detective Esther Williams (Zara Ahmadi) took on a case in which a prized possession was stolen. to the Shipton Abbott Museum.
Throughout the series, Shipton Abbott’s police team has dealt with a death during a murder mystery, the disappearance of a local fishing legend at sea, and a medium who predicts an arson attack.

It comes after Kris Marshall appeared to rule out any crossover with Death In Paradise ahead of a new season of Beyond Paradise.

The first season finale of Beyond Paradise featured some elements of a crossover between the two BBC dramas.
Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris, returned to Saint Marie Island and even reunited with his old friend Harry the Lizard.
However, there are no signs of further interconnection between the two series in the future, after Kris seemingly ruled out any chance of this happening in season two.
Death in Paradise bosses Tony Jordan and Tim Key said in February 2023 that the difference between the two shows is that Humphrey has to solve a non-murder mystery in the first episode of the spin-off.
Additionally, Beyond Paradise is set in the Devonshire town of Shipton Abbott, while the former takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie.
The drama series will be available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer when it returns.
